What personal information do we collect?
We may collect the following personal information about you if you choose to provide it to us:
for all prospective clients we may collect your name, phone number, email address, address and any other relevant information you choose to provide us
for vendors we may collect your name, phone number, email address, address, identification details and proof of ownership
for buyers and prospective buyers we may collect your name, phone number, email address and identification details
for renters and prospective renters we may collect your name, phone number, email address, where appropriate your financial information, employment details, previous tenancy reports, family details, information about any pets and other information necessary to assess rental applications.
for lessors we may collect your name, phone number and email address, financial information (such as your bank statements), information about your property as well as property related invoices.
for prospective employees we may collect your name, email, phone number, CV, working entitlements in Australia and current salary if required.
We may be required to collect some or all of this information by real estate and/or tax law.
Why do we collect your personal information?
We collect your personal information to:
provide the services or information that you request from us, including to provide you with a referral to another service to assist you further if appropriate
in some instances, send news and information about our activities and general promotional material which we believe may be useful to you
If you do not provide the personal information that we request from you, we may not be able to provide you the services or information you request.
Who do we disclose your personal information to?
Your personal information may be shared with our contractors. Our contractors have obligations of security and confidentiality and are bound by contractual obligations to ensure they comply with those obligations.
Do we disclose your personal information overseas?
We generally share or store your personal information overseas only in so far as:
it is stored on servers located overseas maintained by our software providers
It is accessed by our contractors who may be located overseas
Where personal information is disclosed overseas the location of the disclosure is generally Sri Lanka.
You can request access and/or correct of your personal information with us
Our Privacy Policy sets out how you can request to access or correct personal information we hold about you. We will generally provide you with access to your personal information unless exceptions under the Privacy Act apply. We will also take reasonable steps to correct any personal information which is inaccurate.
Complaints or concerns
Our Privacy Policy sets out how you can make a privacy complaint or raise a privacy concern with us. If you have a privacy complaint or concern, please contact us in the first instance. We will deal with your complaint in accordance with the process set out in our Privacy Policy. You also have rights under the law to make complaints about our privacy practices directly to the Privacy Commissioner (https://www.oaic.gov.au).
